Hi I’m Donna Kristine Manley, but my friends call me Kris, and so can you.
Born and raised in the South Bronx, but now I’m a Georgia peach living in Atlanta. I’m a product of the New York City school system, and I turned out alright.
I’m a S.T.E.M. kinda gal with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering Technology and another degree in Communications Electronics Technology – I still don’t know why I chose Engineering. I’m not working in the field. Oh, by the way S.T.E.M. stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.
What I Do Now
Presently I’m a Food Safety Auditor. Yes, I audit food manufacturing facilities. I climb on silos, open up equipment, peek inside large kettles and vats, wear earplugs, a bump cap, a hairnet, wear steel-toed shoes, and I carry a big flashlight. YEAH! 🙂
Family (this is a touchy subject)
I’m the youngest of three children. My parents thought that it was just going to be my sister and my brother, but my sister told our mother that she wanted a little sister and that she was going to ask God for one. Our Mom shrugged it off, but guess what, I arrived soon after. Needless to say our Mom gave my sister a stern talking to, and told her not to ask God for any more siblings – we still laugh about this.
Favorite TV Shows
I’m hooked on HGTV (love the show, Fixer Upper, and I also like the shows Swamp People and Alaskan Bush People – I said that too loud).
I love to travel, hike, swim, fish, and try new things.
I’m a children’s book author which I never dreamed I would be. I’m not bragging, but one of my books, Resumes for Children – 17 Years Old and Under is a Mom’s Choice Award Gold® recipient, but so is Pampers Cruisers. So I guess I’m up there with poop! LOL! My other book is titled, College Bound & Gagged (it’s a Kindle, go to Amazon and download it).
Running My Mouth
I’m a speaker and I teach a wonderful seminar on how to develop a child’s resume. Believe it or not kids can get away with a lot more on their resumes than adults can, and that’s the fun part. If you’d like me to develop your child’s resume, click here.
Different Things I’ve Done.
1. White Water Rafting
2. Took a Bi-Plane ride (the pilot looked like he was asleep) – 😉
3. Helicopter ride over Niagara Falls – 😉
4. Stood on the glass floor of the CN Tower in Toronto, Canada
5. Hiked the highest point of the Appalachian Trail in Georgia
6. Ate Alligator – it was good!
7. Rode on, what I call, this Sea Tricycle while on vacation at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina – WHATEVER!
8. While in Chappell, Nebraska I ate Rocky Mountain Oysters, i.e., Bull Testicles – they were great!
